Blazer EV

By Doug Clayton, EVGrok Staff Writer

The 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV leverages General Motors' advanced Ultium battery architecture to deliver a highly adaptable midsize crossover. Unlike most competitors that lock buyers into a single drivetrain layout, the Blazer EV is uniquely engineered to support front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations. Battery capacities range from an 85 kWh pack in the standard all-wheel drive models to a larger 102 kWh pack for the rear-wheel drive RS and high-performance SS trims, maximizing both range and power output.

In its top-tier SS configuration, the Blazer EV features a performance-tuned dual-motor AWD system generating up to 595 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. This enables a 0-60 mph sprint in under 3.5 seconds when utilizing the Wide Open Watts launch mode. The chassis is supported by a sport-tuned suspension and upgraded Brembo front brakes, ensuring the vehicle's substantial mass is managed effectively during spirited driving. Standard models prioritize efficiency, offering up to 324 miles of EPA-estimated range on the RS RWD variant.

Charging capabilities are robust, with the Blazer EV supporting DC fast charging speeds up to 190 kW on models equipped with the larger battery pack. This allows drivers to add approximately 78 miles of range in just 10 minutes. For home charging, an 11.5 kW onboard AC charger is standard, while the transition to the NACS charge port for the 2026 model year ensures seamless compatibility with the Tesla Supercharger network. Inside, the cabin is dominated by a massive 17.7-inch infotainment display integrated with Google Built-In, replacing traditional smartphone projection with a native, data-rich interface.
