Mini (BMW)

Mini is a British automotive marque established in 1959, originally produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC). The original Mini, designed by Sir Alec Issigonis, became an icon of 1960s British popular culture due to its unique design and space-efficient layout. The car's transverse engine front-wheel-drive configuration influenced a generation of car manufacturers. Its compact size, affordability, and nimble handling made it a popular choice among consumers and a successful rally car in motorsports.

Over the years, Mini went through several ownership changes, including British Leyland and Rover Group, before BMW acquired the brand in 1994. In 2000, BMW relaunched Mini as a separate brand, focusing on modernizing the classic design while retaining its heritage. The new Mini lineup expanded beyond the traditional hatchback to include models like the Mini Convertible, Clubman, Countryman, and more, appealing to a broader market while maintaining its distinct character.

In the electric vehicle (EV) space, Mini introduced the Mini Electric (also known as the Mini Cooper SE) in 2019. This model retains the iconic Mini design and driving dynamics but offers an all-electric powertrain for zero-emission urban mobility. The Mini Electric reflects the brand's commitment to sustainability and innovation, with plans to transition to an all-electric lineup by the early 2030s. Mini continues to invest in electrification to meet growing consumer demand for eco-friendly transportation solutions.
