The Polestar 6 represents the brand's vision for an electric performance roadster, translating the stunning O₂ concept into a production reality. Set to launch in 2026, this electric convertible combines striking design with exceptional performance, featuring a dual-motor powertrain that delivers 884 horsepower (650 kW) and 664 lb-ft of torque (900 Nm). The vehicle's architecture is based on Polestar's bonded aluminum platform, developed in-house, which provides both structural rigidity and optimal weight distribution.
Performance specifications are impressive, with a 0-60 mph time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. The 800V electrical architecture enables fast charging capabilities, while the targeted WLTP range of 372 miles ensures practicality for longer journeys. The retractable hardtop mechanism allows for both open-air enjoyment and closed-roof refinement, making the Polestar 6 a versatile grand tourer.
The initial launch will feature 500 numbered "LA Concept" editions, finished in the unique Sky blue exterior with light leather interior and 21-inch wheels matching the original O₂ concept car. The interior combines sustainable materials with advanced technology, featuring a driver-focused cockpit and the latest iteration of Polestar's Android Automotive OS-based infotainment system. The Polestar 6 represents the pinnacle of the brand's design and engineering capabilities, offering a unique proposition in the high-performance electric roadster segment.
